    Re: IO FAILED AND SOCKET TIMED OUT EXCEPTION

    The "timed out" error means you sent a request to the SUT and no answer was received before the TIMEOUT (60 seconds by default, can be set in \opensta\engines\testexecuter_web.ini) period was reached. Your web server is slowing down or has become unresponsive.

    Re: IO FAILED AND SOCKET TIMED OUT EXCEPTION

    Google "tcp socket", or follow this link http://www.csc.villanova.edu/~mdamia...TcpSockets.htm

    As I mentioned before, these errors indicate some resource is overloaded. Most likely the server(s) under test. These sorts of errors can also occur when the network is saturated or experiencing errors.

    Monitor CPU on each of the servers under test. Check to see what percentage of the theoretical network bandwidth is being used (task manager or performance monitor on the opensta servers(s) should help you do this).

    Re: IO FAILED AND SOCKET TIMED OUT EXCEPTION

    you may need to check the connectio ID 22 in your script, to see what HTTP request had been sent out. It happened to me before, when my script supposed to read different data(like username and password) from the data file for each of virtual user. The request was sent out without data content.

    Re: IO FAILED AND SOCKET TIMED OUT EXCEPTION

    Good point, Pingping. I just ran into that teaching a class today. If you send a malformed request (can happen when you are parameterizing), the request can time out.

    In my student's case, he sent

    GET URI &
    "http://1.1.1.1:7003/sesController?actionType=Ge" &
    "tBcnHistory&subActionType=proDetail&seria lNo="+sl+"&p" &
    "artNumber=i60&includePastHistory=true&val idateMaxRece" &
    "ipt=true&rand=0.99452603567871&dialogRand Value=0.2650" &
    "947400001743 HTTP/1.0"ON 19 &
    HEADER DEFAULT_HEADERS &
    ,WITH {"Accept: */*", &
    "Accept-Language: en-us", &
    "Connection: Keep-Alive", &
    "Cookie: "+cookie_1_0}

    The only problem was that the variable named SL was never initialized. This resulted in a timeout.
