Still i have some queries Steve.Let us assume there is a web page where there is drop down box which has version 5.1 and v5.2.There is a submit button i click v5.1 of my application it should display test report of that particular version same should occur for v5.2 and display in browser seperate test result.
Another question is how to connect test script with database is there any code.please help me in this two question.
Thanks for ur promt reply.
There's no code that I know of that'll allow you to do this. OpenSTA is open source though so you could write you own.
Everywhere's within walking distance if you have enough time.
As per my knowledge, you are unable to do this type of scenario with two results. Instead, you configure two consoles in two different machines and configure for v5.1 with respective script in one machine and v5.2 in another machine. Then, Conduct the run simultaneously.
I hope you can attain your scenario in this way. For one more query, it is not very clear. Whether you are planning to test the database by loading only the query alone? If so, I think you can’t able to do that.
I am new to the opensta tool. Installed it and configured the proxy settings as per the documentation.
The Internet Browser settings have been changed to use proxy server instead od the auto config file.
In the OpenSTA tool changed the Gateway to Local.
Am getting the Page cannot be displayed error (as the tool is not able get to the applcaition due to proxy settings). When checked the proxy settings of the browser opened by tool during recording the Proxy server is set to the local machine (where as the proxy server by defauls should be opther server which I defined in the Explorer before the start of the recording.
The tool is overwriting the settings which I made to the Internet explorer (6.0) before the recording.
Please let me know how to change the default host setting to correct proxy server.
And also please let me know how to record using the remote option in the Gateway.
Hoping get some help.
please start a new thread for your question instead of hijacking this one. thanks.
As per the OpenSTA concern, It will record you transaction with the own proxy as your machine IP and Port with you had mentioned in “Options and Gateway” in OpenSTA Script Modeler.
In your case, I need to know whether you can able to hit the site without your own proxy settings, if so, don’t set any proxy setting. OpenSTA will automatically set the proxy setting while recording and reset it again after recording. For recording in your own machine you need to set the “local” in OpenSTA modeler in “Gateway” option.
If you want to record in the remote site, select the “Remote” in the OpenSTA modeler in “Gateway” option and press the record button in OpenSTA. It will popup the IE, In that IE setting reset the proxy address IP to the machine in which you want to record. Then, do the transaction in the remote machine.
I guess, I have answered your question. Please don’t continue in the old forum. Update the new one.
