why OpenSTA is not able handle operation in a loop

    Hi All
I am Testing a web application for performance using OpenSTA , My primary objective is to measure throughput (total number of transition in unit time )

I have to perform a key operation for 1000 times in loop . I have such two key operation in my script each I intend to run for 1000 times in loop . I set the count for Virtual user to 10 .

My Load generater is Winodws XP with 1 GB ram and 80 Gb Harddisk

My server is a (tomcat) on Linux Fedora OS.

I could not succesed with my previous configration for load test

Eventually I tested it for 4 Virtaul user and 10 transaction in a loop for two key operation each . I got my results .

When I performed test on other scripts , I could scale up to 30 Virtaul users ( Single transaction for each operation )

    Please explaint this behavier .
    Thanks

So the only symptom you report is "I could not succesed with my previous configration for load test "

What happened that you could not succeed?
    What were the symptoms?

Re: why OpenSTA is not able handle operation in a

    Hi,

As per from your forum, I have understood that your Load Generator machine is not withstanding during the loading testing run.

OpenSTA is the memory intensive, Please stop all the unwanted services running on your machine and please try out.

I think in your scenario, it needs to work fine.

Please give me some more details regarding your testing and what was the problem was occurred during the run.
