I am working for Java, jsp based application ,where in which contains 7 modules, and for each module there r 6 to 7 sub modules.
First i have recorded 1 entire module for which i have generated seperate scripts for each sub module.
1) How to arrange these scripts in Configuration tab,one entire module as single task group with sub modules placing in different tasks or any other way is there.
2) I would i like to know if i have to run the scripts as different taskgroups then for each task group if i run with 5 VUs ,say there r 3 taskgroups i have created ,will this means overall 15 VUs are running or it means only 5 VUS are running, how to analyse this thru results.
Place the action scripts into separate files. And let there be one main test script where you can initialixe parameters and then call the necessary action scripts.
In the configuration tab drag the main script behind the task group. Set the values then for the virtual users. For such kind of implementation there is only one bad thing, you don't see what happens inside the script. When action ends and the other starts.
Anyway at first try the whole main script for just one user. Then just add them more.
It is impossible to tell you how to configure your Test without at least some idea of what you are trying to achieve. Even then, OpenSTAs configuration was designed with flexibility in mind and it is really down to the individual tester how they make use of this.
It would be better to ask questions of how to achieve a certain result with the facilities available.
