    OpenSTA-Configuration for a dialup connection?

    Hello,

I need some help for a dialup connection with OpenSTA.
I tried the configuration example that comes with the OpenSTA help, but it doesn't work.
I use Windows XP Professional SP2 and OpenSTA 1.4.3.20.
The Script Modeller always records an empty script. It seems for me that the proxy isn't in
connection with OpenSTA. I changed the port parameter to the value 80 and than I got a recorded script but in the script there are curious connection string like "CONNECT my-computer name: 80"
Hope that anyone has asolution for my problem.

    Kind regards
    Dietmar

Your dialup connection shouldn't cause a problem*.

Leave everything as the deafult and make sure that your browser is not set to "automatically detect proxy settings".

Also, make sure you have read this.

    Cheers
    Martin

    * except that it will increase your end-to-end response times (although probably not time to first buffer (which OpenSTA doesn't record at the moment), careful with your wording when reporting results).

    Hi,

I found the solution for my problem.
It was a configuration in the Windows Firewall Settings. There was the Remote-Support activated.
For a dialup connection this must be inactive.

    Regards

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">What are you talking about here Martin? Modem(Connection) speed will increase all timings, and time to first buffer is your Respoonse time isn't it? Or am I confused with what you're saying?
