synchronised random variables
Is there any method for doing synchronised random variables?
As an example, say I have a list of user IDs that I want to use in a random manner. And, I have a corresponding list of passwords. How do I make sure that the correct password is used for a given user ID?
Another example would be if I used a random list to click on different articles of a news site and I have a corresponding list of strings used to confirm that the correct article appeared.
The only way I can think to do this is to have files in which I pre-randomise the parent and child strings in the same order and then use them in a sequential manner. I was hoping that there was a better way of doing it though.
Re: synchronised random variables
You can do it using the same SEED and surrounding your multiple GENERATEs in a single MUTEX block...
But I wouldn't do that. I'd make my random variable contain both username and password (seperated by a colon or something) and then split them up after I'd done the GENERATE...
