http 500 error & script recording
I am using OpenSTA to test a web application.
When I record a script there are many extra?? empty http get requests. These requests contain the base servlet url:
REQUEST(13): GET http://****/servlet/ HTTP/1.1
But since there is no servlet requested they return a 500 error code.
The requests seem to appear during periods of no other requests leading me to believe that they may have something to do with “Connection:keep alive”.
Has anyone else encountered this? If so could you please point me in the right direction to changing this or understanding this.
Re: http 500 error & script recording
It looks like the application you are trying to performance test is requesting information from the underlying servlets. It is almost analogus to a web application making GETs for all the images it needs to load.
So, coming back to why you are seeing HTTP 500 error, it might be of various causes (depends on how the application is setup). But if it is invoking a servlet and the servlet responds through the application; but not by GET, it might need some security parameters as part of GET statement. Try talking to your developers if possible, they might track down the application logs and see why these requests are denied.
