IF Statements incorparating variables
Lets say I define a MANUFACTURER variable, which can be one of two companies:
CHARACTER*512 MANUFACTURER ( "AUDI", "BMW" ), LOCAL
Then I define two varibles listing the 3 products of each manuacturer:
CHARACTER*512 AUDI_MODELS ( "AMod1", "AMod2", "AMod3" ), LOCAL
CHARACTER*512 BMW_MODELS ( "BMod1", "BMod2", "BMod3" ), LOCAL
Then I want to create a variable, MODEL, to that has the value of either AUDI_MODELS or BMW_MODELS, depending on which manufacturer has been selected. I'm guessing its the IF statment, but I'm sure the syntax is wrong and I'm proberly misusing the SET command:
IF (MANUFACTURER = "BMW") THEN
SET MODEL = "BMW_MODELS"
SET MODEL = "AUDI_MODELS" }
Can anybody pls help and point me in the right direction.
This is to test an ecommerce site with many enteries and once I get the syntax right, I'm trying to have a test that will select several manufacuters with many products each, has anybody done this sort of thing, any pointers -am i going the write way about it?
Re: IF Statements incorparating variables
have you SET the MODEL variable before the If command
