How to use OpenSTA 1.4.4.11 ?

    Hi All,
I'm newbie in using testing tool like OpenSTA
Does anyone could help me, how to use it ?
Since when I'm trying to following OpenSTA commander's index information, I can't use the tool that something about for Properties window which not shown.

First create NewTest in folder Tests, then block column Start and the properties window displayed, in application I've downloaded version : OpenSTA 1.4.4.11, the properties window for Configuration not displayed, it's not available.
As in the help / index information, the properties window is available.
Then second I tried to create NewScript in folder Scripts, still don't know how to use the script modeler which I thought that Configuration in folder Tests should be able to run first.

Your kind assistance will be appreciated, thank you.

    regards,
    ikadewi

    1. open commander.
    2. right click on script and create new script.
    3. after double clicking the new script, go to modeler.
    4. in the modeler, click "options". click on browser and select the appropriate one for you.
    5. click on start recording option. it will open the selected browser for you. do wtever u want to in the browser. after you close browser/stop the recording, the script will be displayed in the modeler window.

Thanks Jena for your guidance in using script modeler.

But, I'd like re-asking what about the browser which will choose if not on the option list browsers ?
Option browser lists available IE 4 - 6 and Nestcape, while I used IE 7.
After the script displayed, then what should we do for Tests ? since I re-open the Newtest.tst the result still the same, the properties window can't displayed and open.

    Have anyone experience this ?

    thank you

OpenSTA works with IE7 as well upto the time you work with HTTP. For HTTPS it creates problem

    To run the test

step 1: go to the OpenSTA commander
step 2: right click on test and create a new test
step 3: and duble clik on created test
step 4: Drag and drop the recorded script in "task1" column of the test window

step 5: set the virtual users as per your choice in "VU" clolumn (By default this is 1)

step 6: Go to test> Execute test option of commander window

step 7 : get the result from result tab
