Pls tell me how to analyse test results......I mean how to prepare a test summary report including avg response time, throughput, total successful hits for the whole test (test is executed with many VUsers).
Also pls tell me the max no: of VUsers OpenSTA can support?
thx in advance
Easy question first: OpenSTA can support approximately 1660 vusers per instance, so for 3000 users you'd need two instances running that can be controlled by one master. This way you can have many more than 1600 vusers.
Difficult question second: Analysing the test results is a different matter and much more complicated. It can't really be explained here and is dependent on lots of things specific to your environment and your business requirements.
To process the results, try looking at the OpenSTA help, look at the opensta portal and try looking at other non-opensta resources to get an understanding about analysing performance testing results (http://www.codeplex.com/).
As for analysing the results in respect to your business requirements and environemnt then you need to find a mentor/consultant who can help you.
It's very difficult and time consuming for someone to do this via a forum.
The thing is that I hv to submit a test summary report and I'am using openSTA to do performance testing....I'am getting so many logs and graphs as test results but not able to analyse them well.I want to know the speed and efficiency of the web appl that I'am testing.....
can u tell me which log/report/gragh I should be looking at to get a good idea abt how the web appl behaved in terms of response time and throughput.......
