How can i monitor Cpu & memory utilization
How can i monitor Cpu & memory utilization for Apacheweb server & OS is Linux?
I was tried in openSta for the following steps but it was not working.
Step 1 - Select a file menu >>New collector >>SNMP
Step 2 - Create the Snmp collector name and double click the SNMP collector . System shows the Edit query window
Step 3 - SNMP server name is :- SNMP and
i was given my server ip address.
step 4 - Clicks on Browse Queries.It shws the Browse Query window
Step 5 - selecting a category is :- SNMP and clicks on select button.It shows alert message like "Nothing select".
I was unable to do this task.
Pls kindly help me.

NRB, you'll need to have the appropriate SNMP MIB running on your server machine. The OS might have some MIBS running and thus will be viewable by your browser.
However, unless you have a specific MIB for the application or system hardware you wish to monitor.
I think finding the Apache MIB should be relatively straightforward. But finding the MIB for your hardware/OS might be a bit more painful.
Long story short, there's no guarantee that the MIB you need is running on your system. There no guarantee that the MIB is available.
However, as a workaround...you can always dump metrics from VMSTAT, Uptime or whatever to a file and load that into excel to build a pivot chart that could possibly correlate (at least somewhat) with OpenSTA response times.
Maybe somebody will develop a plug in that allows for a Rsh or rexec library to integrate with the OpenSTA monitoring facility in order to grab some data from the unix/linux box and parse it using regex.
