Don't you think that validation is a part of development(Note that validation means to verify whether the realization of development is right or not)?

Another question is who should better do unit testing, developer or tester?

I think that unit testing is very like with verification or validation, but we should not say testing is verification or validation. Testing always is digging out bugs.

    FYI.

"Validation refes to set of activities which ensure that software that has been built is traceale to customer requirements."

So, Software Testing is a systematic activity aimed to uncover errors in a software program with respect to its specification to fulfill stated requirements (Validation).

Before testing any software, first you have to know what is requirement of this software. After knowing this, you test the software whether it is implemented correctly or not.

Software testing is an investigation conducted to provide stakeholders with information about the quality of the product or service under test. When one aims to choose a software testing course, the choice often depends at his individual needs. Based on his stage of career and his familiarity with software testing, a person should opt for a course that best suits his immediate requirements.
