Does anyone know of a program, or a way that I can induce packet loss so I can test it against the game I'm working on? We're checking the robustness of our networking and it would be good to try some controlled packet loss. Such as multiple dropped packets, or long periods where nothing is sent.
We can sort of emulate packet loss with disrupted frame rate in the game, but thatís fairly fiddly and requires the tester to stop playing the game as they cause frame rate problems.
We have no problem inducing synthetic latency, but itís the irregularity of packet loss that I'd like to be able to control.
