I am a QA Analyst and need help in retreiving data from both Oracle and SQL Server tables through one SQL. Here is the situation:
Our Source is a SQL server and target is Oracle. While loading the data from source, one of the table in target is used as a reference. In order for me to test this scenario, I need to write a SQL query to pull the data from SQL Server table and join it to a table in Oracle. Is this possible ?
I am using tools like SQL Developer and DBVisualizer, but, couldn't find any help related to this. Are these tools good enough to handle these kind of scenarios ? If not, what would be the best tool to use ?
Re: SQL scripts to link Oracle and SQL Server tabl
Not sure what your desktop configuration looks like, but you could look into using MS Access for pulling data from the two sources. It's not the most elegant of solutions...but it should be something that gets you started down the path.
