Network Performance Testing
I want to do a research project on network performance measurements; something like testing high bandwidth networks, generating network traffic and analyze the network's performance throughput.
I would appreciate any suggestions/pointers on the project, tools (available freely like the TTCP, iPerf etc.) and the approach.
Re: Network Performance Testing
For project you can get free support provided you know what exactly you want to do in your rsearch. Is it going to be an explorative research ? Or descriptive research ?
Since you appear to be still noy on the ladder of research so I suggest follow the steps as below :
1. Enroll yourself for reasarch. Lot many Universities would be able to offer you admission for current/next academic session.
2. Choose a guide competent in the domain (Networking)
3. Approach relevant institutions where Networking is the primary domain. You may check SAMEER, Lucent and in general institutions dealing with server components. They may provide free support if you can convince them that your R&D would be able to add any value.
However take care that you approach 3 only after you are through with step 1 and 2. Just ensure step by step movement on ladder of R&D and excel.
