Automate sending over gsm?
I'm investigating the possibilities to automate our regression tests of a PDA app which among other things sends SMS over the gsm network (using a modem) to a web app. Our idea is to use Compuwares tool TestPartner, which we already use for tests on the web app, to automate the PDA app via the emulator Remote Display Control for Windows CE on a PC.
I have a couple of questions regarding this:
1. Do you have any experience in automating an app which sends stuff over the gsm network? If so, do you recommend it or is it too unstable/unreliable etc.?
2. Do you have a better idea of how to do this than with TestPartner and RDC. Is it worth it to invest in another tool to handle these tests?
I would really appreciate if you took the time to answer my questions.
