GUI Automated Testing Software For PDA\'s
I am working in the Test/QA Dept of a medium sized company. We have our own software that we place onto PDA's that enables companies to manage their workforce more efficently. An example would be a delivery man using a device to accept a job, make a deliver, get a signature.
We have up until now, just manually tested our software before sending it to customer. My manager has approached me and asked for as much of our testing as possible to be automated. We use VNC Robot at the moment to run simple test scripts ie send a message, take a picture. I have done some research on the internet for software packages that may assist us, but most seem to be aimed at very large companies. What we are after is software that can automate tasks on the mobile device (WM5, WM6, PPC) and at the same time monitor the PDA. Does anyone have any advice they can give me or possible point me in the right direction?

If you're already using VNC, Eggplant might be a good solution, although you may need a mac to run it. This previous discussion on the subject may also be of help. FWIW, I have found the most efficient method for Windows Mobile solutions is still to do the bulk of the automated functionality and regression testing on a Win32 version using standard tools, e.g. TestComplete, and do manual checking of the device and interface specific stuff on the PDA itself.
