TestPartner scrpits are run through a specially written UI to automate our tax product. The UI structures the tests in a hierarchy from Suite, script, procedure and finally action word. In the final part of a particular script a new exe is opened where figures can be verified.
When the verify procedure is run on its own there is no problem and the new exe opens verifies and closes successfully. However, when the complete script is run the test 'hangs' at the point where the new exe is being closed. This is not to do with dynamically changing objects as i have checked for that.
Has anyone any idea what the cause of the hanging app could be. It is TP related in the sense that it only happens during automation and not when the tests are run manually.
Re: Automated script hangs trying to close a new app
Have you tried inserting a delay? I was having a similar issue with a popup PDF at the end of an application and have noticed that sometimes on opening/closing windows or changing to certain convoluted screens, TP will sometimes hang for extended periods of time. I worked this out by inserting delays where neccessary and just being patient as the scripts did not error out, they just took a while to kick in.
