    TP does not identify the CHECKBOXES

    Hi guys,

    I am working on a VB application which is developed using the controls like ActiveX,grids etc. Using the Testpartner 6.0.0 Build 453.

    TP does not identify the Checkboxes in the particular window.
    It identifies the whole window as one acticeX control.Iam able to get the names next to the checkboxes by using ActiveX("").CaptureText method, but not the chekcboxes.DOes not recognize the checkboxes at all.
    Here is code the way TP records:

    VBWindow("PerTrac Analytical Platform - PerTracIndexes_se_2007-08-15 VBWindow").Attach
    VBWindow("Current Universe VBWindow", tpAttachChild).Attach
    ActiveX("ClassName=SSUltraGrid Name=grdCurrentUniverse").Click 10, 6
    ActiveX("ClassName=SSUltraGrid Name=grdCurrentUniverse").Click 8, 48
    ActiveX("ClassName=SSUltraGrid Name=grdCurrentUniverse").Click 8, 63

    Any ideas how to work around this issue.

    Thanks in Advance
    Mahendra

    Re: TP does not identify the CHECKBOXES

    I was having multiple problems with recognizing ActiveX controls but getting the newest patch fixed a lot of them.

    I still have to work off of the Index number sometimes, but it is a huge improvement as TP can recognize them.

    Hi manu1980,

    Have you tried creating Alias map for the checkbox? As it may be possible TP couldn't recognize the checkbox as they are customised used from the activex

    Re: TP does not identify the CHECKBOXES

    Hi,

    I have tried creating Alias map for the checkbox, but that also dose'ntwork as TP does not recognize the checkboxes at all.

    Hi CaveatEmptor,

    with the version 6.0 BUild 642 does TP recognize the ACTIVEX controls. If so then I will try to get the same version.

    Thanks

    Re: TP does not identify the CHECKBOXES

    Hi

    Do the one thing,by the help tab button, you can find the path of traval of cursor.

    When the cursor is on target CHECKBOX, GET THE STATUS OF CHECKBOX and do the action whatever you want.

    sample example

    Dim xx%, yy$
    xx = CheckBox("Caption=''").Checked

    If xx = 1 Or xx = 2 Then
    yy = "Y"
    Else
    yy = "N"
    End If

    If yy = Trim(StrVal) Then

    ' Do Nothing

    Else
    CheckBox("Caption=''").Click
    End If
    Be cool

    Re: TP does not identify the CHECKBOXES

    Hi Manu,

    Did the above solution work?

    There is another solution to this but it will be helpful only if you dont have any verification to that checkboxes.
    You can Raw Record your actions to the checkboxes and try.

    Re: TP does not identify the CHECKBOXES

    Manu,

    Getting the patches for the latest build resolved it for me as described. As each ActiveX object in my application has the same name, I still have to attach per "Index=" but being able to attach at all was a huge improvement.

    Re: TP does not identify the CHECKBOXES

    I think as you are not able to recognize the window itself at the first place, you are not able to recognise the checkbox.

    I think you should create a Alias map for the window itself and then you will be able to seggregate the controls in that. Please try this and let me know if it works.
