Splitter control problem
Hi you all,
i've come across the following problem. First let me tell
you about the control that is cousing as a problem. Control is named Sheridan ActiveSplitter control ands its used in
our admin application. ActiveSplitter includes one form and in that form are picture controls like button, editbox etc.
This control worked fine in our previous version 3.5 of admin application. There where no problems indentifying
control from that splitter control. Now we are developing new version 5.0 and there this splitter control is giving me a headache. TestPartner doesn't identify any controls inside that splitter control. Only one huge splitter can be indetified.
There are no major changes from 3.5 to 5.0. Style of the application has changed and unicode support is included. Our software engineer is making me a build where all the properties are same as they where in 3.5. But they thought
those changes won't probably be of any help.
Have you guys come across any similar problems? How did you solve the problem? Have you idea what might be the problem in this case?
Application is developed using Visual Basic 6.0 and we have testpartner 6.0 in use.
If we can't find a solution to this problem lots of our script will be unuseable.
Re: Splitter control problem
Changes in styles could definetly cause problems with controls. One specific thing that comes to mind you may want to check into is if they have changed the control to be owner drawn. If it is, you may want to try accessing the native methods of the control if they are accessible.
