Hi!I'm new to study Testpartner.
When i go through the TP help document, I don't understand the screen event very well.
And when I create a screen event, I don't know how to use the option of "Use window text" in screen event window, if I select this option, the screen event does not trigger.
Does anyone tells me the reason, thanks a lot.
A screen event detects the presence or absence of text in a window. The most common use of screen events is to synchronize with host-based applications and to detect error messages.
The "Use window text" allows you to set what text you want the event to respond to.
There are several things to be wary of here. Can TestPartner recognize the text? Have you tried inserting a delay before the trigger? Are you using a Whenever or Wait for event? Does the event happen in the same place at the same time every time? Does the visual test you have set to trigger from the event run correctly? Does the event trigger and run the visual test independantly of your other scripts?
For the most part, I try to stay away from events. The only place I use events is when I have a window that can occur randomly and not in the same place every time.
An alternative would be you can perform a capture text function or text check and then create a logic statement against tpLastReturnValue
