ADODB - Numeric Field Overflow
I am reading in testdata from an excel spreadsheet and using ADO to read the entire sheet into an array. However when I get to a certain point in the file ( in this case record 747 ) I get an error message saying 'Numeric Field Overflow'.
Is there a limit to how much data I can place into an array ?
Re: ADODB - Numeric Field Overflow
Each array dimension can be 32 bit, i.e., up to 2147483648. I believe an array can be up to 8 or 10 dimensions. So basically you have more logical room than any computer can handle.
Your issue is probably related to a funky way you're trying to handle data. Maybe trying to fit a very large number in an "int" datatype or something?
I suggest you do some process of elimination to find out what data exactly is giving you the trouble... try reading fewer & fewer columns til the problem is solved. That might give you a hint into what's going wrong.
