    Re: whenever IE window exists

Is this for IE 6 or IE 7? The only reason I bring that up is because in IE 7 it should say "Windows Internet Explorer" But I assume it is IE 6. I have heard you can use the wildcards as you show it but never seen it work. (never seen working code)

    Re: whenever IE window exists

    Window("Application=IEXPLORE.EXE") refers to the browser.

    Re: whenever IE window exists

While I agree that does refer to the window I don't think thats the context TP wants it in. I have tried putting that in and it has an error "Unknown property specified in attach string: "Window("Application=IEXPLORE.EXE")" " Just to clarify I wanna know what to put in the text box labeled Attach name in the identify page of the event exist wizard in order to check if an IE6 window is open

    Re: whenever IE window exists

I just found out I can do this

Window("Application=IEXPLORE.EXE Caption='* - Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust'").Exists

however when it doesn't exist it just comes up with an error saying it can't find the window which is kinda what I asked it but I don't want an error any ideas?

    Re: whenever IE window exists

You will need to use the tpAttachNoWait flag to suppress the error from being raised.

Window("Application=IEXPLORE.EXE Caption='* - Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust'",tpAttachNoWait).Exists

Note that the attachment is attempted without waiting, i.e. the attach timeout is not used, so you may want to put this inside a loop with a timeout.
