    compare values

Any ideas n capturing values and comparing them

    Window("software - undertest Window")
    GUIObject("ClassName=AfxMDIFrame70 Caption='' Index=2")

    EditBox("Index=2") ' a field within this screen

Need to capture the value of this field then compare it with

    Window("Account Transactions Window")

    ListView("Label=PAYABLE")

Column 2 Payable and Column 4 Balance on row 2

I tried to use GetItem for EditBox("Index=2") but it did not seem to be supported.

    Re: compare values

I think you need to look at the .Text property of the EditBox and the .Items property of the ListView.

Or use text capture and parse the captured text.

    Re: compare values

I would just be a bit concerned that the edit box is just named index=2 are you sure thats the name of the edit box

You could use this to accomplish what you need

    lngPositionFound = Listview("Label=PAYABLE").FindItem(EditBox("Index= 2").Text)

Or you could use a loop
    For i = 1 to Listview("Label=PAYABLE").Count
    If EditBox("Index=2").Text = Listview("Label=PAYABLE").GetItem(i,1) Then
    LogComment "ItemFound"
    Exit For
    EndIf
    Next
