    Migration from QARun

I have been informed that it is now possible to migrate QaRun scripts to TestPartner.
Is anybody aware of and used this? and did prove as amazingly useful as it sounds?

    thanks

    Re: Migration from QARun

I haven't heard of that. Not quite sure how migration could be possible due to the code base being so different. Are you sure they weren't just talking about launching QARun scripts through the global integration tool domain?

    Re: Migration from QARun

No magic button for doing this. When we converted we did the following:

    1) Determine what scripts we wanted to port. If we wanted to restructure the script we just created it in TP

    2) For direct transfers, we turned on Record in TP and playback in TestPartner. This gave us our flow and object map creation.

    3) for logic and code much of it was copy paste. Find/replace was key for this as well!

    4) Data files can be reused, but are handled as active data in TP. The wizard allowed us to build the code quickly.

    5) Checks had to be recreated... but many of our checks were userchecks so the syntax just had to be changed.

Overall a bit of a pain, but well worth it. Might want to look at TP6 before doing anything. It's introducing a new "scriptless" interface in addtion to the VBA capabablites of today.
