When i create a text check, it looks like TP also captures the Carriage Line Feed which is also part of the text appearing in the message box. Is there a way to exclude the line feed when creating a text check?
The text check captures text EXACTLY as presented. Including the CR/LF's. If those change, then hasn't the "text" - i.e. the exact string - changed?
No, there is no way to change the text check to exclude the CR/LF. Let me modify that - no easy way via TP. You could probabably hack the database entry, but then, why would you want to? That wouldn't change the way TP does the text check, still comparing exact strings to exact strings. What you would really need is a text check that disregards CR/LF.
If you simply want to read the text and check it against a know standard without regard to CR/LF, you will probably have to do it manually via a capturetext.
Thanks for shedding light on this.
For messages that have two liner strings for example, if i create the corresponding text checks from my laptop, they don't run successfully on PC's as the text doesn't break (CRLF) at the exact point within the string. That definitely happens because of slightly different screen resolutions (laptop vs. PC)
