    AOR

    Hi,

I will be allocated to an project next week. It is an Java appliction. I have some basic doubts.

    1. Will the objects( like Windows,Edit boxes, combo boxes) be identified as JAVAobjects or GUI Objects.

    2. If not will i have to use AOR.

    Re: AOR

    Hi,

I have worked on AOR(Active Object Recognition) and it worked fine for me.Compuware has given an Calculator demo and documentation on how to go about it. If we follow as it is given there, it works fine.

If anybody has worked using TP in Java Applications, pls clarify my doubt.

    Re: AOR

What java you are talking about?

    Java AWT?
    Java swing?
    JFC UI controls?
Third party Java controls like Infragestics?
    Java beans - Swing Widgets?
    some AJAX ?

There is whole world of Java UI out there? which one you are talking about? If you dont have a ready answer - ask your developers...

Another word of caution - don't go by Calculator demo by compuware - make sure you thoroughly check the "fitness of use" between your app and TP. You may be faced with surprises if you base your automation plan on the basis of a mere demo of some sample application. Do your own reasearch before you commit your management ...
