    TestPartner is a Compuware tool. TestDirector is a Mercury tool. I'm not sure that the two are directly compatible.

    Re: How we can run TestPartner scripts from Test D

    We're using HP Quality Center to start TestPartner scripts and if I'm not mistaken Quality Center is the successor to TestDirector(?).

    This is how we execute TestPartner scripts from Quality Center,

    1. Create a VAPI-XP script in Quality Center...

    2. In the script we call the function
    XTools.run ("tp","-u [user] -p [password] -d [TestpartnerDSN] -r [testpartnerproject] -s [scriptname],-1)
    This function starts the console version of TestPartner (tp.exe) and executes the TestPartner script name you specify.

    3. Our TestPartner scripts uses Active Data with Excel documents as the underlying data source and to determine if a test script passed or failed we save the test status to the active data used by the testpartner test script.

    4. Since the active data uses Excel as data source, we read the Excel document with OLE Automation from the VAPI-XP script in Quality center.

    Jscript
    var excel = new ActiveXObject("Excel.Application");
    var workbook = excel.WorkBooks.Open([excelfilepath]);

    VBScript
    set excel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
    set workbook = excel.WorkBooks.Open([excelfilepath])

    I hope the functionity is the same for TestDirector.

    Re: How we can run TestPartner scripts from Test D

    Just out of curiosity:

    Is it possible to run TestPartner like this on remote machines? (started from Quality Center)?

    I am currently evaluating HP Quality Center, QTP and TestRunner. QTP doesn't seem to do what we want it to do but TestPartner does seem to fit. So HPQC + TestPartner seems the best best so far.

    Yes, but you have to write your own Remote Agent(s).
    Quality Center does not provide them. Do some searches on "Quality Center & "Remote Agent"

    Re: How we can run TestPartner scripts from Test D

    I have a clarification on the solution proposed here (by lundersson).
    Do I need add the function calls and other change in each of my Test Partner scripts?

    Why not go with TP and QADirector, which directly integrate, instead of using Quality Center?
