Starting VB.NET compliled app from TP 5.3

If I use Shell "C:\myApp.exe" in TP 5.3 to start a VB.NET compiled exe I get an unhandled error from my application. The app runs fine if I start it manually. A developer here has told me that the VBA shell command does not handle .NET applications, but he doesn't know how to start them. How can I gracefully start this app from TP?

If you can't use shell, can you start it by typing a command into Start~Run? If so, automating that might be the second best option.

I found that the issue was that the Shell command did not set the working directory. I added a ChDir command before shell and all was well.

    'Set working directory for Client
    ChDir ("C:\Program Files\AVT\")
    'Start RFClient
    Shell "C:\Program Files\AVT\Client.exe", vbNormalNoFocus
