krish_sri... you certainly win the award for the most random unrelated questions!
Tp supports character based emulators (like Attachmate) which is how MF and AS400 applications are accessed. Its a different type of scripting though... there are no objects on the screen. You have to use a combination of TYPE, and a Screen Event to keep the app synchronized.
I just started to use TestPartner to automate a project with a piece using an AS400 application.
To make sure I understand your statement - 'You have to use a combination of TYPE, and a Screen Event to keep the app synchronized.' This means TestPartner can not store the name of the text fields - correct. In order to navigate around I would need to Tab to various fields?
That is correct... you can capture keystrokes, F-keys, and do text checks and captures on just about any emulator you look at. You want to then get tp sycronized with the emulator having a whenever event keying on the busy indicator
If you are using Attachmate (or another emulator with API) you can go to the field level using the code. For example...
'Add a reference to the Attachmate Library
Set Sys = CreateObject("EXTRA.System")
Set Sess = Sys.ActiveSession
Set MyScreen = Sess.Screen
MyScreen.PutString "Alias", iRow, iCol 'USER ID Field
