.type method with an activex control
I am working on a series of scripts for our web sites. A few of these scripts seem to have some sort of imbedded activex object.
I have been able to identify, attach and even .type to it. but i can only do this in debug mode.
here is what i am using
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;"> ActiveX("Name=mydhtmlctl1 ClassName=DHTMLEdit".Attach
ActiveX("Name=mydhtmlctl1 ClassName=DHTMLEdit".Type "help me please" </pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">If I step through the code it does exactly what i want it to. However if I run the script it goes right though it with out typing the text out for me.
I have tried using pause for up to 5 seconds, didn't work.
I don't want to go with our solution of popping a text box and waiting for the tester to enter the text. This kind of defeats the purpose of automation.
Re: .type method with an activex control
Try Alias mapping the control to Editbox, then re-record your script.
