I needed more info from functionality perspective.
I think that VBA is used as the scripting language for TestPartner. what is the diffence between VBA and VBscript. Is their any doc that lists out all these.
Please send accross to me.
You would probably get your best answers by asking Mercury and Compuware directly for any white papers they have on their products. Anything you hear from us would be heresay and biased toward our own opinions of the tools, which may or may not be shared by you.
At the end of the day, its not the scripting language that makes all the difference, especially when both are non-proprietary.
The bigger advantage of TP is that it uses the VBA application along with its scripting language. In other words you get VBA, but you also get all the features of the environment including the debugger, intellesense, watch windows, modules, abilty to extend to 3rd party libraries, etc.
One of the differences between the two is in the way they handle things as well.
Plus Testpartner has other things like userchecks and specific code like TPDoubleClick. So far we have tried to move code accross and haven't had much luck. VBA is definetely more robust then the VBScript.
Another big difference is that the objects for the scripts are kept in TP where the object for QTP are kept in Quality Center. The Scripts can also be ran straight from TP without the help of QADirector or QACenter, while QTP is pretty dependant on QualityCenter
