    Re: Automated TestPartner Installation

What I used is a freeware program called Install Rite. It's not perfect, but good enough to make an auto install for test partner, and it is free.

It does a before and after snapshot, then creates an executable that will duplicate the changes.

    Free download at:

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">No I'm not using AutoIT to install TestPartner. I do use it for some things where I don't have network access or TestPartner isn't avaiable for other reasons.

AutoIt was made to help the author install programs, so I'm sure that you'd be able to get it to install TestPartner.

    Re: Automated TestPartner Installation

Don't overlook InstallRite, it will take you about 10 minutes to make a test partner package and is very easy to use.

    Re: Automated TestPartner Installation

We created an answerfile for the testpartner installshield package, but the installation process stops suddenly without any reason.

    Re: Automated TestPartner Installation

I'm in the same boat... I've tried repeatedly to create an answer file and then use the /s switch for the silent install... but with no luck.

InstallShield actually installs TestPartner, but at the last second uninstalls everything, leaving a "ResultCode=-3" in the installation logfile.

The "-3" means "Required data not found in the Setup.iss file". I have no idea what that required data is.

    I'm hoping someone can elaborate...

    Thanks in advance,
    - Sam

    Re: Automated TestPartner Installation

This was a known bug, which is fixed on the new QACenter CDs.
