I'm trying to upgrade to the new version of TP - 5.3.0 on a Windows 2000 machine and I'm getting a message stating that there is already a version of TP on the machine and it won't upgrade. I've uninstalled the old version, searched the hard drive and the registry and deleted all references to Compuware and TestPartner and still get the message. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this problem?
OK, the problem only exists on only one of the machines we're upgrading, however, on the other machines, scripts that were written in the previous version of Test Partner aren't working very well. The new version (5.3)doesn't seem to be as good at recognizing objects (for example doesn't recognize the 'x' in right hand corner of windows, just the window itself - where the old version recognized the 'x', and other things) as the previous version. Has anyone else discovered this or is it a matter of option settings?
Yes, thank you. That solved the problem with regards to the upgrade. Compuware was able to give me the specific registry entries to delete, once they were gone, the upgrade went well. Now, I still have the problems with the new version however. We've gone back to 5.2 due to all the issues we've found in 5.3
