From QARun to Testpartner
I use QArun but Compuware said that they will stop it within 5 years and almost already stopped to fixe/enhance it. So my company decided to use TestPartner instead.
But I created in QARun so many common fonctions with libraries of variables and so on.
Compuware said we can play a QArun script and record in same time with TestPartner. It works for actions of course.
My question : I don't know how to migrate libraries and fonctions full of variables from QARun to Testpartner. Has someone already created such a tool to do that?
Do I have to create all again?
Many many thanks to any usefull tips or else.
PS : No solution at all from Compuware on this.
Re: From QARun to Testpartner
1) You can use the QARun bridge to call existing QARun scripts from TP. (this calls the QARun program, so it needs to be on the same machine) This will run QARun scripts, and report a pass/fail in the log. The drill down on the TP log, will launch the QARun log. See the Insert~QARun Scripts menu.
2) if you copy/paste a QARun function into testpartner, much of it will translate over without issue (i.e. variables, loops, etc) Find/Replace is a big help for bulk changes.... for example changing the comment char from ; to ' or for Arrays changing the [ to (.
3) From a learning curve perspective... download the TPCommandBuilder utlity here. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TPUser/
It works similar to the QARun Command builder but also has an option to "show the equivelant QARun to TestPartner Command"
