Which mode to use for recording?

    Hi all
I wanted to share my scripts with others.
So i created a DSN for them to connect to my Db on my machine.
But when i run the scripts created using Object Map, then those scripts dont run on their systems, giving errors.
But if i record using raw attach, then they run perfectly alright.

I even copied my TestPartner DB file to their systems, even then the problem is same.

    Any suggestions please.
    Thanks And Regards

Re: Which mode to use for recording?

Look at the properties of the Object maps. What properties are "Significant"? One of those may be machine specific to you.

When you use a raw attach, you are specifying 1 property (in the script) in which to identify the objects. In an object map, you can have multiple properties in which to identify the object.

A common problem from machine to machine is the caption of a window differences. For example one persons browser may say 'Explorer provided by ABC Corp.' and the next may not. This is an example of where you want to use a Wildcard in your Caption property.

Also... If you are going to a team environment, you should consider using MSDE, SQL Server, or Oracle. MS Access is not intended to be a concurrent user DB.
