Test Partner MSDE problems
I am in the process of installing QA Center 5 and I am experiencing a couple of problems with TetsPartner 5.2
Firstly I somehow managed to mess up my test partner MSDE database. Whenever I try to log into the Testpartner database, via TestPartner, from the machine I created it on it complains the database pointed to by my ODBC connection is at version 1.0.0 and requires a database at version 30.0.4. it then tells me how to do this via the database config utility. Unfortunately the config utility won't allow me to access the database and says the database pointed by my ODBC Connection is not a valid database.
Secondly I cannot connect remotely to this Test Partner MSDE database. my database did previously work but I have never been able to connect remotely. Whenever I try and create a Windows Authentication Mode ODBC connection to the testpartner database. I get the following error.
Microsoft [ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL SERVER] Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason. Not associated with a trusted SQL Server Connection.
Someone on another project did get this error if they tried to access a database on another domain. However I believe the two machines I am using are on the same domain.
I'd appreciate any responses with possible solutions to these problems.
I don't have a problem accessing the QADirector database but then that is set up using a SQL Server Mode ODBC connection. Any reason why Test Partner is different from the rest?
Re: Test Partner MSDE problems
I have only seen the first message in TestPartner's database maintenance utility when logging in with a user who is not the owner. I would check your DSN to make sure that it is still configured to use NT authentication as this is usually the problem that you see with the second error that you are receiving.
If everything is OK there, I would try re-importing the MSDE database to Enterprise Manager to see if everything looks ok. Return all rows from DTL_SYSTEM you should see that the TPSCHEMA_VERSION is 30, the TPPRE_RULE should be 0 and the TPPOST_RULE should be 4. You should also return all rows on TP_DTLVERSION. Verify that the TPSCHEMA_VERSION field goes from 1 to 30.
