TestPartner Doesn\'t work with XP SP2?
Is anyone successfully running TestPartner under Windows XP Service Pack 2?
I was running TestPartner under XP SP1 and didn't see any problems. I then installed the release candidate for XP SP2 and now TestPartner refuses to load. I click on the program, the mouse cursor changes to indicate that the program is loading, but then it quickly changes back to the normal pointer arrow and TestPartner never loads.
I tried adding TestPartner to the exclusions list for the Windows XP SP2 firewall, but that didn't change anything. I then turned of the Windows XP SP2 firewall entirely, and that didn't fix the issue either.
Has anyone else had these issues?
Re: TestPartner Doesn\'t work with XP SP2?
I just tried it with a clean XP SP1 image. Applied Server Pack 2 RC1, Installed TP 5.2, setup the ODBC connection and everything seemed to work fine (could connect to a remote database of scripts and run them fine).
My understanding is XP firewall only restricts incomming communication by default so Test Partner shouldn't have any problem getting out to the universe.
I'd recommend uninstalling Test Partner, and reinstalling it.
(System Properties in XP says I'm using XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 2, v.2096, and I'm an admin on the machine.)
