I am trying to use the textselect method to select text in our AUT. The AUT uses Open Interface to render the objects. However, the textselect only seems to be working on one machine and no others.
The capturetext method seems to be working on everyones machine, albeit, we have to setfocus to another window before actually capturing text.
Does anyone know why this is the case, the only thing I can see different is that my machine has an Intel Graphics card.
By the way, we are using Tespartner 5.1.1 Beat (Build 1067) on Windows 2000 service pack 1 & 2.
Any hints suggestions would be helpful.
Re: Textselect method
I am not sure why it would work on one machine and not the other but there is something you can do to make sure TP can "see" text on your machine. When you are on the page you want to do your TextSelects and/or CaptureText.... Create a TextCheck against the Window. (Insert Check ~Text, 'Identify' the Window, view the Details TAB) If you see the Text you are trying to manipulate, then you should be able to select it and capture it.
Remember too.... A textselect and capture text is dependent on the previous .attach statement. So...
HTMLBrowser.TextSelect "New", tpLeftSingle Click
(Text must be contained in Browser)
Window.TextSelect “New”, tpLeftSingle Click
(Text can be anywhere on the window)
ListBox.TextSelect, “The Name”,tpLeft SingleClick
(“The Name” must be contained inside the last attached listbox”)
Hope this helps,
