    Testparter fatal error?

    Hi all,
I am running Testpartner on a NT box, with jdk 1.2.2, connecting to an Oracle 8 DB.
I have been writing and using the VB test scripts for quite a while now to test my applets.
However, I have come accross a problem , which could actually be a bug with Testpartner: When I try to select from a particular comboBox I get the following error:

The instruction at 0x21d02f7f referrenced memory at 0x65726949.
The memory could not be "read"

Click on OK to terminate the application
Click on CANCEL to debug the application

I have other scripts selecting different combo boxes, but they work fine. If I run the applet without testpartner and select that combobox manually there are no problems!

Anybody have any ideas or ever experienced this themselves?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Turk

You could try the code that I have attached.

However, if that doesn't work send CPWR a copy of teh applet and the code that you have been using, and they might be able to assist.

    Thanks for that!
But have you run that code? I tried but that line:
    sCurrent_Text = ComboBox(Utilities_ComboBox_UtilityName).Text

I think is wrong. I don't think a comboBox supports the .Text method.

    What do you think?

Are you working within a browser, or normal app, remember, you need to replace the parameters with the names of the controls you are using

I am running from within TP.
I know you have to change the parameter names

    Re: Testparter fatal error?

I have seen this same behavior. It occurs when making a selection when the combobox is selecting down into the list, but if making a selection up into the list it does not occur. The .text method will probably not work in the current GA of TestPartner, but it should work in the next GA release 5.1.0. It should currently work with comboboxs such as mfc based. You can try this syntax, but it might not work.

    ComboBox(your combo here).Select item: = "Your Item"

btw - Are you using Oracle as a backend for TestPartner or for your application? If for TestPartner, could you let me know how you were able to get it to work?
    Thanks
