I am using testpartners Utility.Random() to get a random number. It works fine on my local machine but when I run it on my test box it generates the same "random" number each time. What is used as the key or seed for testpartners random utility?
Is your "test box" a different machine
with it's own copy of TestPartner ?
The test box is a separate PC but testpartner is running through QA Director.
Its kind of dumb, but you have to call
You have to set the seed value of what Random uses. With not setting it, it uses the same number each time its called.
The dumb part is
1. It doesn't say this in the help file for Utility.Random
2. If the seed isn't set it should just use the default Milliseconds.
So to fix your problem all you have to do is call
Utility.RandomSeed = Utility.RandomSeed
Thats dumb looking.
