Using TestPartner with Windows 7 64 bit
I've always used TP with Windows XP, but I received a couple of new workstations today with 7 installed on them. One box has 7 32 bit and the other has 64 bit.
I started running some existing tests against the new machines and I have found that the 64 bit box doesn't recognize the Windows start menu button, while the 32 bit machine seems to run pretty much like XP (so far).
I'm using TP 6.3 and I remember reading the the release notes that it is compatible with both 32 and 64 bit versions of 7. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
Re: Using TestPartner with Windows 7 64 bit
Here's the info I received from MicroFocus support:
TestPartner 6.3 will run on a 64-bit OS, but cannot be used to test 64-bit applications. Since the Start Menu is part of a 64-bit application (Windows 7) it cannot interact with it.
A simple enough answer in the end makes me wonder why I didn't think of that
For now I'm going to look for a workaround possibly using some combination of hotkeys to call the Run dialog box (my intended target on the Start Menu). Any suggestions?
