i'm new to TestPartner but, pretty femiliar with QTP and TestComplete.
in the last 2 weeks i'm checking weather TestPartner is better tool than the othwer i mentioned here.
according to what i see TestPartner object recognition is poor comparing to the other tools.
is there a way to make the object drill down better,or to make it identifiy more properties of the object?
Thanks a lot
Re: Object recognition
TestPartner has a number of features when dealing with objects, some objects (specifically containers) have a children property that allows you to enumerate the children of the object. The resultant object can then be used to drill down further as required.
Other objects have and Items collection (list boxes, combo boxes) which allow you to get the individual items from the object, usually the text and/or the selection state.
With regard to getting properties, most object expose a number of common properties for the object type, note that these are defendant on the technology, e.g. you won't get a InnerText property on a DotNet object.
If you are trying to get properties that are not exposed then some technologies support .Object, this allows you to get to the properties of the object running in the application under test. Technologies that support this are ActiveX, HTML or DotNet.
