How to check the state of the icons on a toolbar?

The application I'm testing has a bunch of icons on several toolbars. Some icons are enabled or disabled(greyed out)depending on different conditions. What I'd like to do is to be able to check the state of each icon and also select(or click) an icon on the toolbar.

However, TP only recognizes the whole toolbar as a GUI Object.
Is there a way to access each icon on a toolbar or workaround?

Forgot to mention this: the application is written in C++/MFC.

Thanks in advance, your help is greatly appreciated!

I haven't found a way to do this in TP built in commands. But you can get more information about the state of Toolbar button using AA (Accessibility API).

I faced a similar problem in one of my application and it worked for me by using Alias Map for the toolbar.

You may try to Alias Map the toolbar with a standard toolbar and see if individual objects are recognized?
