Browser identfies the caption name differently

    Hi

I am trying to identify the browser. The first time it gives the caption name as

    1.HTMLBrowser("Caption='Registered Alteration By Policy'")

After some time it identifies as

2.HTMLBrowser("Caption='http://10.18.50.73 - Registered Alteration By Policy'")

it has added the ip address to the caption.

I have discussed with my developer and they say they have not done any changes to the code

i dont want to remove the caption in the object browser bcoz i am using the caption to retrieve the data from that browser.

So can u pls any one help me what could be the problem.

    Use the wild card:
    HTMLBrowser("Caption='*Registered Alteration By Policy'")

    Hi

Thankyou very much for the reply.

But we have to use this wild card in the object browser in the caption for that particular object

or we have to manaully change it everywhere in the script the browser is being used.

You can change it in the object mapping and then every script referencing the object will be updated automatically

Re: Browser identfies the caption name differently

    Hi

Thanks very much for the solution. But I am using the testpartner version 5.6.

So is it possible to change it in the object mapping. or still we have to change it everywhere in the script.

Sachin, I am not familiar with 5.6 but would imagine it works in the same manner. If all of the scripts are pointing to the mapped object and you change the mapped object, there would be no need to change all of the scripts.
