I am facing few problems on running the TP scripts .The major problem rises like this .At certain times the script comes up with an error message stating "unable to find the XXXXXXX attach name". And on going into the debug mode and on clicking "step out" the script continues to work well and we face the save problem at some other line of code where the line of code ends with attach.May i know what could be the reason.
It could be that the object's name has changed since the script was written - at the point where the script stops, try using Identify to see what name TP thinks your object has, to ascertain that you're using the correct name.
Or maybe the screen's not completely loaded before you try to attach to it.
I have this problem too .... it is like my script would run 100 times without issues in a row.. then suddenly boooom... it can't attach to an object.
I have few workarounds for this issue.
Workaround 1. Define an object map of the object and use only properties that uniquely identifies that control. Or use these unique identifiers when attaching to the object using the name=value pair style when attaching.
Workaround 2: (I hate this approach, last resort). Catch this error. Hope this attach failure only happens on the same control/window. Then do a retry/timeout mechanism.
