I'm currently using QARun to automate a web application which is written in java. The text items that are displayed are of type "Static" and I can't get any of the tools/functions within QARun to retrieve the text. I've tried the GetProperty() function but even though I can attach to the object, I get an error stating that I cannot run this command on this object. I'm at a bit of a loose end now and would appreciate any advice - I've scoured the QARun help and there isn't really much available with regard to "static" type controls.
Re: Help on getting properties - java static control
What exact syntax are you using for the GetProperty? I assume you went through the help steps for getting the visible properties - even then, sometimes they don't work as expected. For instance, the 'data' property might not work, but 'text' will work even though not listed in the check capture.
