QARun vs QADirector Attaching Objects
After completing a script in QARun and testing that it runs correctly, I attempt to run the same exact script in QADirector and it fails saying it can't find certain objects: window events, window attachments, etc.
Is there a problem with QADirector or QARun or is this a software problem???
Re: QARun vs QADirector Attaching Objects
This is a very common problem with using QARun and QADirector together. I am currently fighting the same problem. There are a few things that could be causing the problem.
1 QADirector adds more overhead to the computer running the test and a window that was found in time before now may take too long and QARun may time out.
2 sometimes QADirector just doesn't like to work with QARun, rerun the same script and it will work just fine.
3 QADirector not working correctly. This is where I am currently at. I have several hundred scripts that run fine through QARun. If QARun is open and minimized the scripts run ok through QADirector. If QARun is closed the scripts will make it about 25 lines and then start failing to attach to control, windows, objects...Compuware is working on the problem.
Try logging on to QARun on the test system. Then closing all scripts inside it and minimizing it. Now log onto QADirector and try to run the script. If the script will run then you are having the same problem I am, otherwise we can try something else.
Also, this is probably a QADirector issue since the script will run in QARun and it should be moved to the QADirector forum and out of the QARun section.
