I am looking at learning QA Run by myself using the QA Run getting started guide 4.8.1, does anyone know if this is the best approach, if not can you suggest a text or guide I can use as this is the first time I am using an automated tool.
I would recommend you try the training first. It will give you a good background in the tool itself, where to find things, how the tool fits together.
After that, the best way to get to grips with it is to try it. Compuware can also offer on site skills transfer as opposed to structured training. Possibly better if there will be 1-2-1 mentoring. My only advise on this one though would be to make sure you know, and state, exactly what you want from it.
There are other companies in the UK that can give training or skills transfer in this area. If you are interested mail me and I can give you more details.

Thanks guys for the very helpful tips. It was interesting to know that Compuware can also offer on site skills transfer as opposed to structured training and that other companies offer QARun skill transfer too. This will be very useful indeed.
