It is my experience that if you wish to use variables for the row and/or column, you must use TestDataTransform(*)to capture the data prior to sending it to the application.
From the QARun Documentation:
"TestDataTransform(*) is more flexible than the TestDataField( ) function because it is able to process testdata expressions. On the other hand, TestDataField(*) is easier to use in loops with numeric counters."
